ST2 Update November 2007

Not so much a story... but more of a general update and some new photos!

Now that everything was finished...from a major mechanical point of view.

You always, seem find other "little modifications" to fill your time!

The ST2 bright silver radiator and the way that it looked,
had always bothered me
and regardless of what colour the rad was......
it looked odd....
a bit like a BIG nosed woman...
not being sexist ..naturally!

Something had to be done!

A "Nose Job" for the fant....great...especially as the beak
had been relegated to the 888 fant.

You may recall that I ran a DR Suzuki beak on the fant to "test"
the body work and layout for that other project..... the 888.

The 944Fant was always a MULE for the 888 anyway and
it was time for the BEAK to leave the new ST2 944elefant.

Elefant...Mules..Beaks and Minkies.....strange old world.

So after a cardboard cut out and trying different profile shapes.
A quick visit to the sheet metal man and some epoxy resin
was all that was needed to make all the difference.

After lining up the new radiator trim lines, with the natural body line
on the IE fairing......it was time to tackle the dash.

Whilst at the French Mont Dore meeting, I met a rather talented
French fant glassfibre fabricator and moulder, called BRUNO.
Who sold me this dash cover for 25 Euros!!
It cuts out all reflections and is moulded from
Black Gel coat GRP..one piece.

If you are interested ....it mounts to the front fairing bracket,
is held in place by cable ties and does a really good job
of finishing off the dash...especially as I have cut,
shut and inserted the ST2 computer trip,
lap and egg timer into a standard issue E750 dash.

After the dash..... the next job was the Alloy bash plate.

Bearing in mind that my exhaust ran a different way,
than standard...what a suprise....I cut and shut a standard
bashplate and Tony the Paint, got one of his contacts
to re weld the sections mimicking the original profile.

And finally .....a new batch of 4 specially made, cad plated,
BIG discs...355mm.....came through from Stealth Products a while ago
and I finally got to use one of them for MYSELF.

1 for the ST2 fant...1 for Tonys' S2R fant.....
1 for Malkus in Sweden and a SPARE..
if anyone fancies this conversion.

So......there you have it....no more..I think!!

Apart from some new wheels...in BLACK and kinobbles...as the French say!

The wheels are 19 front and 18 inch rear....... holding TKC 80s.

All of which, makes for a pretty aggressive stance...even at standstill!

Time to explore Northern France and enjoy the
characteristics of a "proper" 944 Ducati engine.
I am off on a run to the Ardeche to buy some French fags.

I know that I am biased but it really is a pretty fant!

How exactly do you say......

"Bring your Sister over here and let me dance with her ...
just for the hell of it!" .............in French?

Don't worry......I've got my coat!
